The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction has taken place on November 24 and 25, 2024 at Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. The two-day mega auction – which takes place once every three years – will see some renowned players go under the hammer as well, including Rishabh Pant, Mitchell Starc, KL Rahul, Jos Buttler and to name a few.
The 10 IPL franchises will take part in the auction, where a total of 577 players enter the bidding process as well. Among them, 367 will be Indian, while 210 are overseas as well. Moreover, each IPL team must have at least 18 players in their roster at the end of the auction as well.
Here are the players Lucknow Super Giants retained before the mega auction.
Before Auction
Retained Players: Nicholas Pooran, Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, Ayush Badoni
LSG: 69 crore – Remaining slots – 20, Overseas – 7

During Auction
Rishabh Pant: LSG made the first move for Pant. Soon RCB jumped in and tussled with LSG as well. The bid soon went past 10 crores and LSG bid for 10.25 crore. Moreover, SRH also escalated it to 17 crore.
LSG returned with 17.25. The battle continued for Pant in Jeddah as they went past 20 crore. And, LSG kept competing with SRH as well. While DC tried to use RTM, LSG offered 27 crore and acquired his service.
Aiden Markram: South Africa allrounder and captain Aiden Markram entered at a 2 crore base price. LSG joined lately and bought him.
David Miller: Aggressive South Africa batter David Miller came with a base price of INR 1.5 crore. He played for Gujarat Titans last season and they were the first to bid for him. RCB also bid for him. They raised it to INR 5 crore before Delhi Capitals joined. RCB too came up at INR 7.25 crore but LSG sealed the deal for INR 7.50 crore.
Mitch Marsh: Star Aussie allrounder Mitch Marsh came in at 2 crore. SRH opened the bidding for Marsh alongside LSG as well. LSG raised the bid to 3 crore whereas SRH came back in at 3.2 crore. However, LSG came in with 3.4 crore and acquired his service.
Avesh Khan: India and MP pace bowler Avesh Khan entered the bid at 2 crore. LSG started the bidding for the talented speedster. While they had traded him to RR previously, now they want Avesh back as well. PBKS jumped in and the bidding war with LSG went past 3 Crore mark as well. And, in the end, he was sold to LSG for 9.75 crore.
Abdul Samad: He had a base price of INR 30 lakh. RCB and LSG joined hands in the bidding war and the bids quickly reached the INR 1.5 crore mark as well. RCB backed out but PBKS came in at INR 1.6 crore as well. PBKS also raised the bid to INR 2 crore but LSG went to INR 3 crore and LSG eventually bought him for INR 4.20 crore.
Aryan Juyal: The young wicketkeeper batter came in at a base price of 30 lakh and only LSG bid for him and sold to them at the base price.
Akash Deep: He had a base price of 1 crore. CSK bid first whereas LSG jumped straight in and the bid went past the 6 crore mark soon. LSG hold the bid at 7 crore. And, Akash Deep was sold to LSG for 8 crore eventually.

Himmat Singh: LSG started the bid for the uncapped batter, and got him for base price.
M Siddharth: The Tamil Nadu spinner was with LSG last year and SRH and LSG bid for him as well. DC entered at INR 60 lakh but LSG raised it to INR 75 lakh and got him back as well.
Digvesh Singh: The offspinner was sold to LSG at base price.
Shahbaz Ahmed: The allrounder entered with INR 1 crore. SRH started the bid and LSG also joined in. LSG and SRH fiercely bid for him and took it beyond INR 2 crore as well. SRH raised it to INR 2.2 crore but LSG quickly returned to raise the price and bought Shahbaz for INR 2.4 crore.
Akash Singh: He was sold to LSG for his base price.
Shamar Joseph: WI player Shamar Joseph entered at 75 lakh. Although MI opened the bidding for him, LSG have an RTM and they executed it.
Prince Yadav: LSG got him at his base price of 30 lakh.
Yuvraj Chaudhary: LSG got him at his base price of 30 lakh.
Raj Hangargekar: LSG open the bidding and bought him for 30 lakh.
Arshin Kulkarni: Maharashtra allrounder Arshin Kulkarni sold to LSG at his base price of 30 lakh.
Matthew Breetzke: LSG bought him for 75 lakh.
