The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will lock horns with Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 26th match of IPL 2025 on April 12 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. It promises to be a high-stakes clash, as both teams are in solid form this season. LSG currently sit fifth on the points table with three wins from five games, while GT have enjoyed a stronger start and are perched at the top, having won four of their five matches.

Both sides are coming off impressive wins and will be looking to build momentum. In their last outing, Lucknow edged out Kolkata Knight Riders in a thriller, winning by just four runs. Nicholas Pooran (87) and Mitchell Marsh (81) were the standout performers, powering LSG to a competitive total.

Gujarat, meanwhile, delivered a clinical performance against Rajasthan Royals, winning by 58 runs. Sai Sudharsan led the charge with a composed 82-run knock. The head-to-head record strongly favors Gujarat, who have won four of their five meetings with Lucknow. But with home advantage and form on their side, LSG will be eager to change the script and close the gap on the points table.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

Avesh Khan could play a pivotal role with the new ball for Lucknow Super Giants, especially against Gujarat Titans’ top order. Since 2022, Avesh has dismissed Shubman Gill twice in T20s, conceding only 64 runs off 51 deliveries—a stat that makes him a serious threat early on. While Jos Buttler has taken him on for 43 runs off just 23 balls, Avesh has still managed to get the better of the Englishman thrice. Gujarat’s power-hitter Shahrukh Khan also struggles against Avesh, having been dismissed twice in just seven deliveries.
Probable XII: Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Ayush Badoni, David Miller, Abdul Samad, Shardul Thakur, Akash Deep, Avesh Khan, Digvesh Rathi, Ravi Bishnoi
Gujarat Titans (GT)

Rashid Khan may not have hit top gear yet this season, but he remains Gujarat’s best bet to contain Nicholas Pooran. The LSG left-hander has already smoked 24 sixes in IPL 2025, leading the chart by some distance. However, Rashid has held his own, dismissing Pooran twice while giving away only 77 runs in 66 balls since 2022.
