The 51st match of the IPL 2025 season promises to be a high-stakes encounter as Gujarat Titans (GT) take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, May 2. GT, led by Shubman Gill, will be desperate to return to winning ways after a tough loss to Rajasthan Royals, where even a strong total of 209 wasn’t enough.

Gill’s 84 off 50 balls and Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 50 had put GT in a commanding position, but a blistering chase powered by Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal stunned them. On the other hand, SRH are fresh off a morale-boosting win over Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk but remain inconsistent and face a must-win situation to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Narendra Modi Stadium has largely aided batters, especially in the first half of the innings. However, the pitch tends to slow down, bringing spinners into the game after the powerplay. With a bit of bounce for pacers too, the surface promises a balanced contest. Notably, teams batting first have had the upper hand here, winning three of four games this season.
#1 Rashid Khan vs Heinrich Klaasen

Known for his aggressive spin-hitting, Heinrich has had a mixed record against Rashid in T20s. In six innings, he has scored 73 runs off 47 balls, striking at over 155 while being dismissed twice. With Rashid struggling for rhythm this season, Klaasen might look to attack early and put pressure on GT’s premier spinner.
#2 Mohammed Siraj vs Ishan Kishan

Mohammed Siraj has managed to dismiss the left-hander twice in eight T20 encounters. While Kishan has scored 75 runs off 50 deliveries at a healthy strike rate of 150, he’s also been tied down at times, facing 25 dot balls in the head-to-head. Kishan, who has been inconsistent in IPL 2025, will look to break free, but Siraj’s disciplined line could pose a challenge.
#3 Pat Cummins vs Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler has been in imperious form this season with 406 runs at an average of 81.20. While SRH captain and pacer Pat Cummins has dismissed him thrice in T20s, Buttler strikes at over 165 against him, making this a battle of nerves and skill in the powerplay.
