The final match of which will be played at the Malahide Cricket Ground in Dublin. However, the bowler suffered an injury owing ahead of the game and now he has been withdrawn himself from the event. The 18-year old bowler didn’t play the opening match.
Meanwhile, the national selectors opted not to announce a replacement for Little as they have decided to rope in David Delany as a part of their development strategy. Talking about the development strategy, the Performance Director for Cricket Ireland, Richard Holdsworth, “The national selectors and coaching staff of the senior men’s team are implementing a new initiative to provide opportunities for young players to gain experience being involved in the dynamics of the senior squad as part of their development. We successfully trialed this on the recent trip to Sussex by bringing in Harry Tector, and this week we will use this circumstance to provide David a development opportunity.”
He further added, “The expanding programme of fixtures over the next four years means we need to look at creative ways of increasing the talent pool of players ready to take that next step in their careers. hese development opportunities provide invaluable experience and insights for our younger players, which is in the long-term interests of Irish cricket.”
After the 76-run defeat of the Irish team in the opening T20I, Little may have got an opportunity to display his prowess in the second game. He made his debut back in September 2016 when the Irish team locked horns with Hong Kong at Bready.
