Ireland all-rounder Gareth Delany has revealed that he has been eagerly waiting to lock horns with India’s Suryakumar Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar during the upcoming T20I series. As per the quotes in India Today, Gareth Delany said, “It’d be really cool to bowl to Suryakumar Yadav. He’s an incredibly talented batter who can play 360 degrees and mix it up between power and finesse. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is also one of the world’s best new-ball bowlers in T20 and has a very low economy rate for T20 cricket, so it would be a good challenge to go against someone of his calibre.”
Ireland is set for a packed few months of cricket as they face New Zealand for three ODIs and as many T20Is. It will be followed by a couple of T20Is against South Africa before hosting Afghanistan for 5 T20Is. However, Delany’s attention at the moment is on the series against the Indian team.
Gareth Delany also spoke about the challenge of facing the Indian team in the upcoming series. He called it an exciting opportunity and hoped to showcase his skills during the two T20Is.
