All-rounder Hardik Pandya is known for his big-hitting ability in the middle overs and at the death. Along with the bat, he contributes with the ball when he fails to do well with the bat. However, he has been going through a rough patch in the ongoing IPL 2021 season. For this, former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan criticized him.

Hardik Pandya, who earlier struggled with back issues and did not bowl a single over in the IPL 2020. However, Mumbai Indians’ director of cricket Zaheer Khan has revealed that it is a part of his workload management. But, he returned to bowling for India prior to the IPL, during the ODI and T20I series against England at home.

Hardik Pandya played as a batsman in the IPL 2020 and he did quite well with the bat. But, so far, he has scored only 35 runs in four innings. And, Pathan’s comments came after he got out for a duck against Delhi Capitals in Chennai on Tuesday as well.

As far as the game is concerned, Mumbai Indians has lost the game by 6 wickets. After the loss, Rohit Sharma said: “After the start we got we should have batted better in the middle overs. It is happening time and again. We aren’t able to capitalize on our starts and we need to understand as a batting unit. But you have to give credit to the Delhi bowlers, they kept it tight and kept taking wickets. We knew dew would come in but we have seen that it’s not all that difficult to grip the ball in the last few games. Dew isn’t the factor, we need to play smart cricket to win games which we didn’t do today. [On his injury] It’s only a niggle. It should be fine.”
