Ishan Kishan faced fine for breaching IPL Code of Conduct against Delhi Capitals

Mumbai Indians star batter Ishan Kisha has been fined 10 percent of his match fees for violating the ICC Code of Conduct during the game against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday (April 27) as well. In a statement released after the game, the IPL stated that Ishan committed a Level 1 offence and he has admitted to the offence as well. He has also accepted the match referee’s sanction as well. As per reports, Ishan Kishan has been sanctioned and fined for abuse of ‘cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment’ during the match between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians.

“Mr Ishan Kishan, Wicketkeeper-batter, Mumbai Indians has been reprimanded and fined 10 per cent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during Match 43 of the TΑΤΑ Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on April 27, 2024,” stated the release.

“Kishan committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” added the statement.

As far as the game is concerned, Mumbai Indians suffered a 10-run loss against Delhi Capitals. Asked to bat first, Delhi Capitals scored a massive total of 257 for 4 in 20 overs. Jake Fraser-McGurk starred with the ball, smashing 84 runs off just 27 balls with the help of 11 fours and six sixes as well. In reply, Mumbai Indians tried well but eventually fell short by 10 runs as they finished on 247/7. Tilak Varma top-scored with 63 off 32. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan scored only 20 runs.
