India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has become the talk of social media, not for his exploits on the cricket field but for beginning a new professional chapter. The 28-year-old recently joined the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as an Assistant Manager under the sports quota, with pictures of him reporting for duty at the RBI’s regional office in Patna quickly going viral.

The images showed Kishan interacting with RBI staff and posing for photographs with employees, drawing widespread attention from cricket fans. Many praised the Jharkhand cricketer for successfully balancing his sporting career with a prestigious government position while continuing to represent India at the highest level.

According to reports, Kishan’s monthly salary as an Assistant Manager is expected to range between ₹1.22 lakh and ₹1.24 lakh. After deductions, including provident fund and other statutory contributions, his estimated in-hand salary is believed to be between ₹1.08 lakh and ₹1.12 lakh per month.

The appointment comes during an impressive phase in Kishan’s cricketing career. After slipping out of India’s national setup, the left-handed batter worked his way back through consistent performances in domestic cricket. His strong displays earned him a surprise recall to the Indian squad, and although he was initially not part of the plans for the 2026 T20 World Cup, he eventually secured a place in the final squad and contributed to India’s successful title-winning campaign.
