Ishan Kishan once again showcased his excellent fielding ability during the India vs West Indies 1st T20I at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The wicketkeeper-batter produced a stunning catch in the deep to dismiss West Indies all-rounder Matthew Forde.

The dismissal came on the first delivery of the 15th over, with Kuldeep Yadav bowling a shortish delivery to Forde. The ball sat up nicely, tempting the West Indies batter to attack. Forde went for the pull but failed to generate enough power or timing.

The ball went high towards deep mid-wicket, where Ishan Kishan was stationed. The former India wicketkeeper immediately moved to his left and covered considerable ground to get underneath it.

However, what initially appeared to be a straightforward chance quickly became difficult because of the floodlights. Kishan briefly lost sight of the ball against the lights, but showed excellent awareness to recover and stay in position.

Even Ishan Kishan couldn’t believe how he took that catch 🫣

He stretched forward and kept both hands close to the ground as the ball came down. Despite the awkward trajectory, Kishan managed to get his left hand underneath the ball and completed an outstanding catch.
