The lanky Indian pacer Ishant Sharma has been fined with fifteen percent of his match fee and one demerit point for his aggressive celebration after picking the wicket of the English southpaw batsman Dawid Malan in the first Test at Edgbaston.
It was a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct and after the day’s play, Sharma admitted the offense and accepted the sanction proposed by Jeff Crowe of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees and, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing.

The charge was leveled by on-field umpires Aleem Dar and Chris Gaffaney, third umpire Marais Erasmus, all from the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires, as well as fourth umpire Tim Robinson.
