In the 28th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the veteran fast bowler, Ishant Sharma has dominated his bowling. Sharma, playing his first IPL match after 2021, out-bowled the visiting team. Along with this, he also bowled very economically, due to which he is being praised a lot. In IPL, he has returned after 717 days i.e. almost two years.

Experienced fast bowler Ishant Sharma was bought by Delhi Capitals in the mini auction held in December last year. Sharma was signed at his base price of INR 50 lakh. Although till now he had not got a place in the playing 11, but he got a chance against Kolkata and the pacer did wonders. He gave a memorable performance in his comeback match at his home ground.

Ishant Sharma has played a total of 94 matches in IPL. Meanwhile, he has achieved a total of 74 successes in 94 innings at an average of 36.76. His best bowling performance in IPL is five wickets for 12 runs. Sharma has spent runs here with an economy of 8.10.

The power hitters of Kolkata succumbed to the bowlers of Delhi Capitals as they lost 9 wickets for a score of 96 runs. Only Jason Roy could score 43 runs from the Kolkata team and no batsman failed to do much. 7 players could not touch the figure of ten. Venkatesh Iyer and Anukul Roy returned to the pavilion without even opening an account.

Ishant Sharma conceded just 19 runs in 4 overs with an economy of 4.80 and took 2 wickets. He took the wickets of captain Nitish Rana and Sunil Narine. Apart from Ishant, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel also had a couple of wickets each.
