While Indian tall pacer Ishant Sharma was battling with the minor shoulder injury during his ongoing English county stint, he has been selected in the Indian squad for the upcoming historic Test match against Afghanistan.
While Indian cricketers are currently busy in the ongoing IPL 2018, Ishant is busy to play the English county cricket for Sussex. The 29-year-old recently missed out the match against Middlesex due to the minor shoulder injury, but his selection in the Indian squad has clarified that he is match fit.

Before their UK tour, India will play the one-off Test match against Afghanistan at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru) that will begin on June 14. It will be Afghanistan’s first-ever Test match who will come on the ground as the 12th Test team, while 11th Test team Ireland will begin their Test cricket journey against Pakistan on this Friday (May 11).

While Indian skipper Virat Kohli will be not available in the historic Test match due to his English county cricket stint, BCCI has named a strong team for that home Test including Ishant Sharma.
Ishant is currently busy in the county cricket as he is playing for Sussex. Before his injury, the right-arm tall pacer has played three games in this season and has picked up total 8 wickets. From the first game in this season, Sharma has impressed with the ball as he picked up total 5 wickets in the first game against Warwickshire at Birmingham.
In the second game, he surprised everyone with the bat after scoring an important 66 runs and providing an important 153 runs partnership for the eighth wicket. Before India’s UK tour, Ishant’s confident performance is giving more strength on their mind.

Before the historic one-off Test match against Afghanistan, Ishant will play the List A games for Surrey.
