Sharma has been away from professional cricket for some time now, having last played a Test match against New Zealand in a home series in Kanpur in November 2021. He missed the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season due to a back injury, but he is expected to return to action in the upcoming domestic season.

The veteran pacer is one of the most experienced bowlers in the Indian cricket team, with over 300 wickets in the red-ball format. He is also the third-highest wicket-taker for India in Test cricket, behind only Kapil Dev and Anil Kumble.

Sharma’s international career has been on hold for over a year now, but he has expressed his desire to make a comeback. His performances in the domestic season will be key to his chances of returning to the Indian team. In the meantime, Sharma is enjoying his new role as a father. He recently shared a photo of himself holding his baby daughter in his arms, with the caption “My world.”

It is also a reminder of the importance of family and work-life balance for professional athletes.
