Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj said that England’s ultra-aggressive approach does not help in the subcontinent conditions. However, England’s Bazball style of play has largely been successful, but it will be interesting to see how it works on rank turners and prolific Indian spinners. Siraj, who bowled only 24 overs in total during India’s last home series against Australia in 2023, will be hoping to do well at his home ground in Hyderabad.
“If they try to play Bazball in Indian conditions then I think the match is likely to end inside two days. It is not easy here to hit every ball. The ball turns sometimes, sometimes it stays straight. If they play Bazball here then it is good for us because the match will end quickly,” Siraj said on JioCinema.

The first Test between India and England is scheduled to start on January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad as well.
Team India speedster Mohammed Siraj also shared about his plans for the upcoming test series against England. He shared that his aim will be patient and control runs, along with building pressure on the batters.
“On their previous tour to India, the matches were getting over quickly. In that series (in 2021) I think I played two matches. In the first innings of one of these, I bowled five overs and took two wickets of Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow. So, the aim will be to control runs in how many ever overs I bowl. If I get wickets fine, but I’ll have to stay patient and continue building pressure on the batsmen,” concluded Mohammed Siraj.
