Veteran Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has been out of action for quite a few months now. He was injured in a car accident back in December 2022, which saw him sustain major injuries as well. As a result, Pant could not feature for the Delhi Capitals franchise as he was ruled out of the IPL 2023 along with a few upcoming ICC tournaments as well.

However, recently, he received even more bad news as the Sonnet Cricket Club in Delhi will no longer be there at Delhi University’s Sri Venkateswara College. It has received an eviction notice recently, which would not be in action from there as well. The club had been operating at the college since way back in 2000. One of the coaches at the club revealed that the college did not want the club anymore, which was the reason for the eviction notice being served in the first place.

Seeing the reports of the eviction, Rishabh Pant took to Twitter to express his disappointment over the same. “It is so disheartening to see my club that has produced so many international cricketers over the years and continues to do so has been served an eviction notice. It played a major role in shaping my cricketing career and many more like me. This is like a home for all of us,” Pant tweeted.

“We have always followed the rules set by the college. I would like to request the governing bodies of Venkateshwara College to reconsider this as Sonnet club is not just a club, it’s like a heritage institution and a home for so many budding cricketers,” Rishabh Pant further  tweeted.
