Star Team India batter Sai Sudharsan shared about his confrontation with England opener Ben Duckett in the final Test of the series last year at the Oval. He was playing only his third Test match, and he was dismissed for 11 in the second innings just before stumps on Day 2 as well. As a disappointed Sai walked back to the pavilion, Duckett sledged him. It resulted in Sai turning around and confronting the England opener when Ollie Pope and Harry Brook separated them immediately to prevent further escalation as well.

“I’ve never ever fought in the ground. That was my first ever moment. It was just him giving it. I was very hungry to win that game, to make a difference in that game. I feel it was more about the hunger to win the game. In that intensity, I got angry. When I went out, he said something. That time I lost it,” said Sai Sudharsan on the Mashable India YouTube channel.

Sai Sudharsan also shared that he was drawing in a notebook during the Test series against England last year as well. Notably, on his Test debut in the series opener at Headingley, the left-handed batter was seen writing things down in a notebook.

“I watch the game very seriously. I watch a lot of videos, I prepare and do things like that. So, because I was playing No. 3, I was watching every single ball. I felt I’d have gotten tired even before getting in. So, my goal was to draw to keep my mind busy and yet be focused. I was drawing; I was not journaling about every ball,” Sai Sudharsan concluded.
