In today’s match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Lions, Ravindra Jadeja proved his worth yet again. Lions drew the first blood by dismissing Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle cheaply.
After the dismissal of Travid Head, Kedar Jadhav came in to bat at No. 5. The right-hand batsman from Maharshtra came out with positive intent and struck quick boundaries to take on the opposition. Just when he was looking dangerous, Jadeja dismissed him.
On the fourth ball of the ninth over, Jadhav was aiming to play a late dab off Jadeja. What he forgot was that Jadeja is seldom not on target. It was only a matter of time when he missed the ball and it kissed his stumps. Jadhav had to take the long walk to the pavilion for 31 (18). His innings was comprised of four boundaries and a six.
In 132 IPL matches, Jadeja has picked up 81 wickets at an average of 29.37 and an economy rate of 7.75. His all-round abilities have earned him 1,627 runs at an average of 23.24 and a strike rate of 121.14.
