Delhi Capitals youngster Jake Fraser-McGurk has been in sublime form in the Indian Premier League. Since his debut in the tournament, Fraser-McGurk has made a name for himself with his sensational batting approach that has provided Delhi with a major boost as well. Batting against MI at their home stadium, Fraser-McGurk smashed 84 off just 27 balls, helping DC to post a huge total of 257 runs. Fraser-McGurk was happy with his batting against the best bowler in the world Jasprit Bumrah as well.
However, on Saturday, Fraser-McGurk equalled his own record of fastest fifty in IPL 2024 as well. He brought up his feat in just 15 balls in a 114-run partnership with Abhishek Porel. He hit a six and a four in the first two balls that he faced against Bumrah which saw everyone enjoying as well. Fraser-McGurk reacted to the big shots and said that he could brag about those shots against Bumrah all his life as well.

“First ball Bumrah, off cutter and six. I am pretty happy to say that I hit Jasprit Bumrah for a six because he is the best bowler in the world. That was also a free hit, I forgot about that. Ya, free-hit ball, he bowled a pretty good yorker, I managed to dig that one out for four, so off to a pretty good start,” Jake Fraser-McGurk said in an interview on the IPL website.
“I just see the ball and hit it. Only my fifty in the first match, I took a double to reach fifty, the other two I have hit boundaries I think, so that’s quite fascinating, I don’t mean to do that,” Jake Fraser-McGurk reacted. “Backfoot punching over cover against Hardik Pandya was my favourite shot of the tournament so far, I am going to save that on my phone for sure, because I never do that.”

However, when he was asked about the secret to power-hitting, Jake Fraser-McGurk chuckled and added that he did not have any breakfast today and only had a strong coffee before coming out to bat in the first innings.
“I did not have any breakfast today, I am in the habit of going to bed at 3 AM after the night game and waking up at 12 PM. So, for the day game, I went to bed at 2 AM and woke up at 11, so I did not really have any time for breakfast, I just had a nice latte, extra strong,” Jake Fraser-McGurk concluded.
