During the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), Australian batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk faced a painful setback early in his innings. The incident unfolded in the first over of Delhi’s batting, bowled by Rajasthan’s Trent Boult. Boult’s delivery struck Fraser-McGurk in the box, causing him considerable discomfort.

Despite the initial pain, Fraser-McGurk displayed resilience by swiftly recovering and smashing the next delivery for a boundary. The Capitals’ physio attended to him, ensuring he could continue his innings.

As of the latest update, Delhi Capitals have made a positive start, reaching 22 runs without loss in 2.1 overs. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson opted to field first after winning the toss, citing a favourable batting surface.

Samson emphasized the team’s adaptability, expressing confidence in both chasing and setting targets. He also mentioned the absence of key players Dhruv and Hetmyer, with Shubham Dubey and Donovan Ferreira stepping in.

 

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant acknowledged the batting-friendly pitches of the season and stressed the importance of focusing on the matches despite injury concerns. He announced the inclusion of Ishant Sharma and Gulbadin Naib in the lineup, highlighting their potential impact in both batting and bowling roles as needed.
