Injured Indian cricketer Jayant Yadav has been ruled out from the ongoing Quadrangular A Series who was playing for India B. All-rounder Jalaj Saxena has replaced him in the India B squad.
The 28-year-old off-spinner Jayant Yadav, who has played four Tests and only ODI for Indian cricket team, is suffering from a right side strain injury and will miss the remaining matches of the ongoing Quadrangular A series at Bengaluru.
The 31-year-old all-rounder Jalaj Saxena is going to replace Yadav in the India B squad for the remainder of the series.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released a statement on that which was, “Jayant Yadav has been ruled out of the ongoing Quadrangular A Series. The all-rounder is suffering from a right side strain injury and will be undergoing rehab at NCA, Bengaluru. Jayant Yadav was part of the India B squad in the Quadrangular series. The Senior Selection Committee has named Jalaj Saxena as replacement for Yadav in the India B squad.”
India B cricketer Jayant Yadav played one game in the ongoing Quadrangular A Series where India A, Australia A and South Africa A are the other participating teams. Yadav played his only game in this series against South Africa A where he had a bowling figure of 8-0-45-0.
Meanwhile, all-rounder Jalaj Saxena has recently featured for India Green in the ongoing Duleep Trophy. Playing against India Red in that day/night four-day game, Saxena picked up only one wicket in two innings and scored 27 runs during India B’s first innings. The present Kerala all-rounder Saxena was in the good form during the last domestic season.
Currently, India B is leading the points table in the ongoing Quadrangular A Series with 12 points in four games. While their first two games were washed out, they beat South Africa A and India A in the next two games.
