On the second day of the third Test between India and England in Rajkot, veteran English pacer James Anderson showcased his fielding skills, securing a crucial catch to dismiss Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin. The catch almost slipped through Anderson’s fingers but was eventually secured off the bowling of young spinner Rehan Ahmed.
Opting to bat first, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma led the team to post 326 runs for the loss of five wickets by the end of the opening day’s play at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. However, India faced early setbacks on the second day, losing overnight batters Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav. James Anderson managed to dismiss Kuldeep Yadav for four runs, while Jadeja added no runs to his overnight score.
During the second session on Day 2, Ravichandran Ashwin and Dhruv Jurel formed a crucial partnership, adding 77 runs for the eighth wicket. Rehan Ahmed eventually broke the stand after lunch.
