Gujarat Titans all-rounder Jason Holder has addressed the debate surrounding his catch to dismiss Rajat Patidar during the IPL 2026 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Ahmedabad. The moment sparked mixed reactions, but Holder remains clear—he was fully committed and focused solely on completing the catch.

Speaking after the match, Holder revealed that while his eyes were locked on the ball, he was also aware of teammate Kagiso Rabada closing in from the other end. Despite the potential for a collision, the West Indian all-rounder judged both the ball and the situation perfectly. His priority, he explained, was simple: ensure the ball didn’t touch the ground.

“Yeah, I did see him [Rabada]. I was just hoping that I wouldn’t run into him. I had the ball in my eye for sure, but I just didn’t want it to fall on the ground. My biggest thing was just to get there, make the attempt, and hold on to it.”
