Gujarat Titans have suffered a major setback ahead of the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. England opener Jason Roy has decided to withdraw from IPL 2022 citing io-bubble fatigue. In the recently held mega auction, Gujarat Titans, under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, bought Jason Roy for a base price of ₹2 crores.
According to the recent reports of ESPN Cricinfo, Jason Roy has informed the franchise team about his decision only last week. Gujarat Titans have not yet finalized any replacement from him in the squad. 31-year-old Jason Roy has performed well in the seventh season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

As per the reports in ESPN Cricinfo, Jason Roy has taken this decision due to his long stay in the bio bubble. IPL 2022 is to be played between 10 teams. Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are the two franchises that will be taking part in the IPL this year itself.
There is now a pertinent question about who will be replacing Jason Roy for the Gujarat Titans. However, they have Matthew Wade, who can also open the innings for them.
