Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah and his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, celebrated a joyous milestone on Monday as they welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Angad. Bumrah had previously left the 2023 Asia Cup tournament for what he described as “personal reasons,” which were now revealed to be for the birth of their son.
The proud father took to Instagram to share the happy news, accompanied by a heartwarming photo of the new family of three holding hands. In his post, Bumrah expressed their overflowing happiness: “Our little family has grown & our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine!”

Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan tied the knot in a private ceremony held in Goa in March 2021, keeping their relationship low-key and away from the public eye, in stark contrast to some of their celebrity couples. Their love story remained largely concealed from the public until their wedding photos surfaced on the internet a few days after Bumrah was released from the Indian squad before the fourth Test match against England in Ahmedabad.

Unfortunately, due to the strict bio-bubble restrictions imposed during the Covid-19 pandemic, Bumrah’s teammates were unable to partake in the celebration. Despite the initial secrecy, the couple has since shared glimpses of their life together, with Sanjana even conducting an interview with Bumrah during India’s tour of England the previous year.
However, both Bumrah and Sanjana had gradually retreated from the public eye in recent times. Bumrah faced a challenging period as he grappled with a stress fracture in his back, which forced him to remain sidelined from competitive cricket for an entire year.

Simultaneously, Sanjana mysteriously withdrew from her broadcasting duties. She faced unwarranted trolling on social media when she posted vacation pictures, and she firmly defended herself whenever trolls unfairly targeted her for Bumrah’s absence. As they embark on this new chapter of parenthood, Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan have expressed their joy and anticipation for the adventures that lie ahead, now as a family of three.
