Jasprit Bumrah And Shikhar Dhawan Makes A Comeback In Indian Squads

The fiery Indian fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah has made a comeback to India’s T20I and ODI squads for next month’s home assignments against Sri Lanka and Australia respectively. However, the veteran opener, Rohit Sharma and the veteran pacer, Mohammed Shami have been rested from the T20Is according to the squads announced in New Delhi on Monday.

The southpaw opener, Shikhar Dhawan, who had a deep gash on his knee which required 25 stitches, will also be witnessing a comeback in both the squads, as the chairman of the selection committee, MSK Prasad announced the squads after a meeting of the five-member panel. Bumrah had been missing out of the action due to a stress fracture of the back and recently bowled during India’s net session ahead of the second ODI against the West Indies in Visakhapatnam.

India has enjoyed a successful home season so far, as they registered a 2-1 series win over West Indies in the ODI series on Sunday. Earlier, the men in blue registered a resounding 3-0 whitewash over South Africa in Tests before securing another 2-0 win over Bangladesh. The series against Bangladesh also saw India’s first-ever Day-Night Test in Kolkata.

India will take on Sri Lanka in three T20Is starting from January 5, with the first being played in Guwahati followed by the second game in Indore on January 7 and the final match will be played in Pune on 10th January.

The men in blue will also be playing three ODIs against Australia scheduled to commence on January 14 in Mumbai followed by the second game in Rajkot on January 17 and the final match will be played in Pune on 19th Bengaluru.
