Mumbai Indians’ pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah delivered a stellar performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 36 of IPL 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium. After going for runs in the previous game against Delhi Capitals, Bumrah returned to his vintage best, showcasing his unmatched skill with the ball on a pitch that had more bite than usual.

Right from the start, Bumrah looked determined to make amends. He was disciplined with his line and length, using the surface cleverly and making it tough for SRH batters to break free. While he began economically with the new ball, it was in the death overs where his brilliance truly stood out. He brought all his experience into play and never allowed SRH to finish strong, especially on a surface that didn’t offer much pace and bounce.

One of the turning points came in the 19th over when he dismissed the ever-dangerous Heinrich Klaasen. Bumrah delivered a searing full toss that angled in sharply. Klaasen, looking to free his arms through the off-side, misjudged the pace and was comprehensively beaten. The ball crashed into the stumps, sending the Wankhede crowd into a frenzy.

What made the moment even more special was the heartwarming reaction from Bumrah’s wife, Sanjana Ganesan, and their little son Angad. The duo was spotted celebrating in the stands, their faces lighting up with pride as Bumrah raised his arms in celebration.

This performance not only saved MI crucial runs — potentially 10-15 — but also reinstated Bumrah’s dominance in the death overs. With both teams desperate for a win to lift themselves from the bottom half of the points table, Bumrah’s spell could prove to be the difference-maker in a tightly contested clash.
