Jasprit Bumrah made an immediate impact with the ball during India’s crucial T20 World Cup clash against the South African national cricket team, striking in his very first over to remove Quinton de Kock for just 6 runs. The Indian pace spearhead began the over with intensity but was briefly put under pressure when de Kock dispatched a full toss for a boundary.

However, Bumrah responded in typical fashion. On the very next delivery, he produced a sharp back-of-a-length ball that completely deceived the left-hander. Attempting to play across the line, de Kock missed the ball entirely as it crashed into the stumps, triggering loud celebrations from the Indian players.

Bumrah’s reaction revealed how determined he was to bounce back after conceding the boundary. The dismissal also gave India national cricket team the perfect start in a high-pressure encounter.

India soon tightened their grip on the match when Arshdeep Singh delivered the second breakthrough. The left-arm pacer dismissed South Africa captain Aiden Markram, who could manage only 4 runs. Markram attempted a shot that lacked timing and elevation, allowing Hardik Pandya to complete a comfortable catch in the field.

Earlier in the match, Markram had won the toss and elected to bat first on a dry and slow surface at Narendra Modi Stadium. Interestingly, India captain Suryakumar Yadav admitted that he would have preferred to bat first as well, considering the nature of the pitch being used for the contest.
