Legendary Australian fast-bowler Glenn McGrath has lauded Team India’s Jasprit Bumrah, calling him one of the best pacers in the world. However, India thrashed England by an innings and 64 runs at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala to win the five-match Test series 4-1. Bumrah claimed 19 wickets to finish as the third-highest wicket-taker in the five-match Test series as well. Bumrah missed the fourth Test and finished the series with an impressive bowling average of 16.89.

Speaking to PTI, McGrath said, “He’s (Bumrah) definitely up there, there’s no doubt about that. Glad to see him back in international cricket. Despite having to sit some time out with the injury, he possesses quality,” said McGrath.

He added that Jasprit Bumrah is unique in the way that he bowls, insisting that he tasted success despite his different actions. Notably, India dominated the test match against England in Dharamsala where Kuldeep Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin who played his 100th Test stepped up with the ball.

“He’s unique with the way he bowls, but he has got a great attitude. He runs in hard all day, bowls in great areas, along with a good pace. Although he has a different run-up and action compared to most other bowlers, he has found a way to take wickets and be successful,” McGrath added.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored centuries leading India to a massive score of 477 as well. Meanwhile, Ashwin continued his fine form in England’s second innings, scalping his 36th five-wicket haul and helping India win the match by an innings and 64 runs as well.
