Jasprit Bumrah Revealed The Feeling When He Bowling To Sachin And Ponting

From the Indian Premier League (IPL) to the national squad, the premier fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah as witnessed tremendous gains in his cricketing career so far. The flamboyant cricketer has emerged himself as one of the best bowlers in the world cricket by delivering consistently for the team, across the formats.

Within a span of a few months, Bumrah is leading the ICC ODI Rankings and delivered some memorable spells for the Virat Kohli-led side in teh longest of the game. After a fantastic journey so far, Bumrah revealed his first meeting with Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting at the Mumbai Indians camp, where it all began for him.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Bumrah revealed that he was asked to bowl at Sachin, Ponting and a few other finest batsmen of Mumbai Indians (MI) in the nets at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. With the wicket offering seam, Bumrah was at his best troubling all of them with ease.

Even Tendulkar termed Bumrah as hard to pick, which gave him the green signal to don the Mumbai Indians’ jersey. The pacer also revealed that he was scared to ask Sachin about his bowling at that time, but deep inside Bumrah knew that he did well.

Recalling the incident, Bumrah said, “When I came to Bangalore, I only had the Gujarat team’s clothing. Nobody had seen me before (in the Mumbai Indians team). I was asked to bowl. This was at Chinnaswamy, and back then there was a lot of grass on the wicket, and it was seaming. I bowled to Sachin Tendulkar, to Ricky Ponting, everyone.”

He further elaborated, ”After batting in the nets, Sachin Tendulkar said: “it’s hard to pick this boy”. “I don’t know if that happened because back then I was a little scared of talking to people, you can’t ask Tendulkar ‘how’s my bowling’? I heard a lot. I didn’t talk a lot, but I was always confident about, my game.”

Well, after starting in such a manner, now, Bumrah is MI’s go-to fast bowler when the team is under pressure. He has grown from strength to strength to become one of the highest-paid cricketers of Mumbai Indians and will once again play a key role in the next season.
