India was off to a great start to day 3 of the ongoing second Test at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg as the experienced duo of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane batted fluently to put together a century partnership to increase the tourists’ lead. But their good work was undone as Kagiso Rabada sent the duo back into the pavilion in quick succession. However, in the second session of the day, Jasprit Bumrah had a heated confrontation with Marco Jansen after a barrage of bouncers.
India was suddenly under pressure at 163/4 and all eyes were on the pair of Hanuma Vihari and Rishabh Pant to take the lead beyond 200 runs. But the Indian wicket-keeper batter decided to go after Rabada without spending any time on the wicket and ended up losing his wicket in the process.

India was down to 167/5 at the time after the dismissal of Pant, with an overall lead of just 140 runs. There was further damage done by the South African pacers as Lungi Ngidi sent back Ashwin, who was looking good with the bat again. India went into lunch at 188/6, leading by 161 runs.
The incident between Jasprit Bumrah and Marco Jansen took place in the 55th over of the Indian second innings as Jansen and Bumrah were seen sharing glares following a barrage of short-pitched deliveries by the Proteas bowler. The action didn’t stop there as Jansen went up to the Indian, after which both exchanged words forcing the umpire to intervene and stop the mid-pitch confrontation.

Jasprit Bumrah, who usually avoids such situations, was also seen getting involved in one, as words were exchanged between him and young Marco Jansen in the second session of the day. However, Bumrah had smashed a six off Rabada in the next over.

A heated debate between batsman and bowler..constant smile on Boom’s face, a pat on the back from Dean Elgar and the constant attempt to hit Jansen out of the park..Test cricket at its best #SAvInd #Bumrah #Jansen #Wanderers

Marco Jansen bouncing Bumrah repeatedly. Hitting him on the body. Jansen has some follow up words. Bumrah has a smile and his happy to chat. But I'm not sure winding up Bumrah is the best plan. Don't think South Africa's batsmen will be enjoying this from Marco. #INDvSA #SAvIND
