During a recent interview, MI pacer, Jasprit Bumrah clarified that for him its not about the competition for the Purple Cap as he is only focused on executing his roles and winning another IPL title with the Mumbai Indians. When asked if he is keeping track of Kagiso Rabada’s tally of wickets, Bumrah’s response was a big no as he said it’s okay even if doesn’t pick up wickets but the team is only thinking about defending their title.
Bumrah set a new record for the most wickets by an Indian bowler in a single edition of the IPL as he has already scalped 27 wickets with one match to go. The Purple Cap is now with the Mumbai Indians pacer as he surpassed Kagiso Rabada’s tally of 25 on the wicket-takers list in Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2020.

Jasprit Bumrah came up with his best figures in the T20 cricket – 4/14 in 4 overs — as he led Mumbai Indians’ dominating bowling against Delhi Capitals in Dubai. He got in-form Shikhar Dhawan for a duck with an unplayable yorker and removed DC captain Shreyas Iyer just when he was looking to getting his eye-in. Bumrah was brought back into the attack in the 16th over when delivered a double-wicket maiden, by dismissing Marcus Stoinis and Daniel Sams.
Talking about the same, Bumrah said, “I am okay with not getting wickets and winning the tournament. I don’t look at the wickets. I have been given a role, and I try to execute that. Take it ball by ball.”
It was Boult who triggered Delhi Capitals’ collapse on Thursday as he got the wickets of Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane for second all ducks in the first over. Boult walked off with a groin strain but Rohit Sharma confirmed that the left-arm pacer will be available for Tuesday’s final.

Bumrah explained, “This is the first time I have played with Trent, our conversations have been very good. He is a very skillful bowler. We discuss different fields, the different ways to bowl, and what to do in different situations.”
