The second Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Edgbaston has been nothing short of a cricketing spectacle. From Shubman Gill’s breathtaking 269 to Mohammed Siraj’s fiery 6/70 and the resilient 303-run partnership between Jamie Smith and Harry Brook, the match has had fans glued to their screens. But amidst the on-field fireworks, an unexpected moment involving Jasprit Bumrah sparked a different kind of buzz.

Despite being rested for the Edgbaston Test, HaBumrah managed to trend on social media — not for his fiery spells, but for sharing a cheerful moment with a mystery woman in the Indian dugout. During the 26th over of England’s first innings, cameras caught Bumrah smiling alongside a woman dressed in Team India’s training gear. The image instantly went viral, prompting fans to speculate about her identity.

The mystery didn’t last long. The woman was identified as Yasmin Badiani, a member of the Operations team at the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Her appearance in India’s dugout and jersey raised eyebrows, but there was a simple explanation — Yasmin has been officially assigned by the ECB to assist the visiting Indian team during their ongoing tour of England.

Her role includes coordinating schedules, handling logistics, and ensuring seamless communication between the ECB and the Indian squad. Yasmin’s presence in Indian gear is simply a result of her operational duties for the series.
A look into her background reveals an impressive career. A physiotherapy graduate from the University of Leicester (2010), Yasmin began her career in healthcare before transitioning into sports. She served as a physiotherapist for Leicester City Football Club between 2010 and 2013, and later became Head of Sport at prominent hydration brands like Phizz Ltd and ORS Sport. Her journey in athlete support and performance science eventually led her to the ECB.

And while the cricket continues to entertain, Jasprit Bumrah’s off-field interaction has added an unexpected and wholesome twist to the Edgbaston drama.
