Jasprit Bumrah once again proved why he’s India’s go-to bowler when the team is in need of a breakthrough. On Day 4 of the rain-affected second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur, Bumrah delivered a crucial wicket early in the day. After the second and third days were completely washed out due to relentless rain and a wet outfield, India was eager to make an impact when play resumed on Monday.

Captain Rohit Sharma handed the ball to Bumrah, hoping for a quick wicket, and Bumrah didn’t disappoint. In just the third over of the day, he dismissed Mushfiqur Rahim, giving India the much-needed fourth wicket. It was a classic Bumrah delivery that left Rahim puzzled. The Bangladeshi batter misjudged the ball, thinking it would swing away from him.

Deciding to leave it alone, Rahim stood stunned as the ball crashed into his stumps. With no choice but to make the long walk back to the pavilion, Rahim’s departure gave India the needed momentum.

This was Jasprit Bumrah’s first wicket of the match, adding to the earlier efforts of Akash Deep, who claimed two, and Ravichandran Ashwin, who took one wicket.

Monday marked the return of play after rain halted progress on Saturday and Sunday. Bangladesh resumed their innings at 107-3, with Mominul Haque unbeaten on 40 and Rahim on six before he fell to Bumrah.
