After England captain Harry Brook won the toss and opted to field, India were bowled out for 233 in 44 overs. Bumrah walked to the crease in the 41st over with Shreyas Iyer still batting at the other end. He began cautiously, taking six deliveries to score his first run as he focused on supporting Iyer.

However, Bumrah switched gears dramatically against pacer Saqib Mahmood in the 43rd over. He started the over with a powerful boundary through mid-wicket before adding another four courtesy of a top-edged pull that sailed over the wicketkeeper. The next delivery disappeared to the mid-wicket boundary again as Bumrah punished a back-of-a-length ball with authority.

The highlight of the over came off the final ball when Bumrah confidently pulled a short delivery over deep square leg for a towering six. His aggressive strokeplay fetched 18 runs from the over and lifted India’s total during the closing stages of the innings.

Bumrah remained unbeaten on a brisk 20 off just 13 deliveries, smashing three fours and a six at an impressive strike rate of 153.85. His valuable contribution ensured India crossed the 230-run mark after losing wickets at regular intervals.

As England chase 234 to level the series, India will once again rely on Bumrah’s pace, accuracy and experience to deliver another match-winning performance with the ball.
