On the third ball of the seventh over, Bumrah shattered Konstas’ stumps with a fiery delivery, dismissing the opener for a modest 8 runs off 18 balls. The young Australian, who impressed with a quickfire 60 in the first innings, struggled to replicate his earlier form against Bumrah’s precision.

What made the moment more entertaining was Bumrah’s celebration, which quickly went viral online. Mimicking Konstas’ own crowd-pumping antics after dismissing Virat Kohli in the first innings, Jasprit Bumrah added a touch of humour and intensity, drawing applause from fans and teammates alike.

The dismissal also marked a significant milestone for Bumrah, as he became the fifth bowler in World Test Championship (WTC) history to take 150 wickets. He joined the elite club alongside Ravichandran Ashwin, Nathan Lyon, Pat Cummins, and Mitchell Starc.

With 71 wickets in 14 matches in the ongoing 2023-25 WTC cycle, Bumrah is on the cusp of surpassing Ashwin’s record for the most wickets by an Indian bowler in a single WTC edition. Ashwin had previously achieved the feat with 71 wickets during the 2019-21 cycle. Meanwhile, Nathan Lyon holds the overall record with 88 wickets in the 2021-23 edition.

Bumrah is also chasing another personal milestone: becoming the fastest Indian pacer to 200 Test wickets. Currently sitting at 199 wickets, one more scalp in the match would see him surpass the legendary Kapil Dev’s record. As the match progresses, Bumrah’s relentless drive and ability to deliver in crucial moments continue to underline why he’s regarded as one of the finest bowlers in the modern era.
