In the match against Lucknow Super Giants, MI faced a tough challenge after being put in to bat first. Their innings stumbled early on, losing four wickets for just 27 runs within the powerplay overs. Despite valiant efforts from Nehal Wadhera, Ishan Kishan, and Tim David, MI could only muster 144/7 in their allotted 20 overs.
