Jasprit Bumrah’s spellbinding match haul of 8/72 (5/30 and 3/42) played a pivotal role in the victory, solidifying his reputation as one of the finest bowlers in contemporary cricket. With his remarkable performance, Bumrah now boasts 40 wickets in eight Tests in Australia, averaging an astonishing 18.80.

This feat places him third among Indian bowlers with the most Test wickets in Australia, surpassing Ravichandran Ashwin (39). He trails only legends Kapil Dev (51 wickets in 11 Tests) and Anil Kumble (49 wickets in 10 Tests). Bumrah’s eight-wicket haul also ranks as the fourth-best by an Indian captain in Test cricket history.
