Jasprit Bumrah clean bowled the dangerous Phil Salt with a slower delivery to put India in the driver’s seat against England in the semifinal of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Chasing a target of 172 runs, England began on a positive note with Jos Buttler and Phil Salt adding 26 runs in the first three overs.
However, India got the much-needed early breakthrough when Axar Patel dismissed the in-form England captain on the very first ball of his spell. Buttler attempted a reverse sweep but ended up miscuing it, resulting in an easy catch behind the stumps for Rishabh Pant.
In the very next over, Jasprit Bumrah strengthened India’s position by dismissing Phil Salt with a brilliant delivery. Bumrah completely outfoxed the England opener with a slower ball. It was an off-cutter aimed at the off-stump, and Salt, unable to pick the variation, went for a big shot too early. The ball crashed into the stumps, sending Salt back to the pavilion.
