The BCCI marked this momentous occasion by sharing a photo on the social media platform ‘Isntagram,’ capturing the instant when Jay Shah handed over the ‘Golden Ticket’ to the cricketing icon.
This unique recognition was part of the ‘Golden Ticket for India Icons’ program, designed to honor outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the nation.

This gesture followed the earlier presentation of a ‘Golden Ticket’ to the iconic Indian actor, Amitabh Bachchan, by Jay Shah, further adding to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the upcoming World Cup.

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is scheduled to be hosted by India from October 5th to November 19th, 2023. The tournament will feature ten prominent cricketing nations, including Australia, England, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and New Zealand.
The cricketing extravaganza will commence with an exciting clash between England and New Zealand. The host nation, India, will kickstart their campaign against the five-time World Cup champions, Australia, on October 8th. As the tournament progresses, the cricketing world can look forward to the first semi-final on November 15th, followed by the second semi-final on November 16th, and ultimately, the grand final on November 19th.
