The southpaw Indian fast bowler, Jaydev Unadkat has been released from India’s Test squad for the second Test match to participate in the upcoming Ranji Trophy final starting February 16. Unadkat will join the Saurashtra squad for the final game against Bengal and that will surely boost the chances of his team ahead of the summit clash.
Jaydev Unadkat was not a part of India’s playing XI that featured in the Nagpur Test against Australia. BCCI put out a tweet to share the news regarding the leaf-arm pacer. The tweet read, “Jaydev Unadkat released from India’s squad for 2nd Test to take part in the finals of the Ranji Trophy.”

Jaydev Unadkat has picked up 17 wickets in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season with his best bowling figures in innings being 8/39. He has recorded an excellent bowling average thus far – 13.64 and a great strike rate of 27.1, including a five-wicket haul.

Saurashtra registered a 4-wicket win over Karnataka in the semi-finals of the Ranji Trophy at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Saurashtra was led by Arpit Vasavada in the match and they chose to field first after winning the toss. Karnataka posted 407 runs in the first innings but Saurashtra did better with the bat and reached a huge score of 527 runs in reply with their captain Arpit scoring a magnificent double hundred.
In the second innings, the hosts got bundled out for 234 runs on the board and Arpit’s side only had to chase 115 in the second innings to win the contest. Arpit led the charge with the bat yet again and played a crucial 47-run knock to help the team go over the line.

Meanwhile, the third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been reportedly moved from Dharamshala. On Monday, the BCCI finalized the new venue as the game will be played at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
