Indian women’s cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues has shown her excitement to play for the country at the Olympics. However, cricket will be a
part of the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028, and Rodrigues wants to be a part of that squad as well. Notably, Jemimah Rodrigues cheered for the Indian athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympics by wearing the special Indian jersey designed for the marquee event.

Taking to Instagram earlier today (August 10), Jemimah Rodrigues wrote: “Loved wearing this current Indian Olympic jersey Can’t wait to play Cricket for India at the Olympics soon!! Man, what a feeling that’d be! 👊🏼 Also our Indian athletes have shown tremendous passion, commitment, persistence and grit! Win or lose, we’re proud of you.”

However, Cricket returned to the Asian Games last year in China as well and the BCCI agreed for both men’s and women’s teams to take part as well. Both teams won the gold medal in their respective categories, and Jemimah Rodrigues was a part of the Indian team that won the women’s cricket tournament as well.

However, Team India dominated the Asian Games tournament, but the Olympics will be a different challenge because teams from outside Asia will also take part as well. It will be interesting to see whether the Indian women’s cricket team wins the gold medal in Los Angeles in 2028 as well. Meanwhile, Jemimah Rodrigues is concerned, the youngster batter played her 100th T20I for India last month as well. She has scored 2,074 runs in 87 games of her career so far.
