Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma had an unexpected off-field moment at Lord’s during the third Test between India and England. Despite being a well-known figure in Indian cricket, Jitesh found himself halted at the gates of the iconic stadium, struggling to convince the security team of his identity.

As fans thronged the entrance, Jitesh was reportedly denied entry, possibly due to a ticket issue or a clearance mix-up. Despite his efforts to explain who he was, the security guards didn’t budge, leaving the RCB star awkwardly stranded outside. With growing discomfort, Jitesh attempted to attract the attention of Dinesh Karthik, who was at Lord’s in his capacity as a broadcaster.

After some calling out and a quick phone call, Karthik intervened, smoothed things over with security, and ensured Jitesh could finally enter. Jitesh Sharma, who last played competitive cricket during IPL 2025, had a standout season with RCB. He amassed 261 runs in 15 matches at a blistering strike rate above 175, playing several vital innings that fueled Bengaluru’s championship run.

His unbeaten 40* off 19 balls against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede broke a decade-long winless streak at the venue. He followed it with a sensational 85* off 33 against Lucknow Super Giants in the final league match, guiding RCB to a 228-run chase and securing a top-two finish. In the IPL final, he chipped in with a quick 24 off 10, capping off a brilliant season.
