Mumbai Indians (MI) fast bowler, Jofra Archer hit out at media reports claiming that he traveled to Belgium to undergo an elbow procedure amid the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) and put out his annoyance at the reporter for the story at a time when he is going through a ‘worrying and troubling time.’
Archer made his debut for MI in their season opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), but after that, he missed four matches in a row. The English fast bowler returned to the MI line-up for their narrow defeat against Punjab Kings (PBKS), but once again missed out on making the line-up for their clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Tuesday (April 25).
Reports in the British media emerged about Jofra Archer flying to Belgium earlier this month for treatment of his troublesome elbow. However, Archer looked unhappy with the reports and called out the reporter for exploiting the situation again.

MI bought the services of Jofra Archer in the 2022 auction for a whopping value of INR 8 crores, despite him already confirming that he would not be fit for that season. There were big hopes from MI for Archer in IPL 2023, especially in Bumrah’s absence, but he has only played two games so far.

Archer missed competitive cricket for almost a couple of years due to an elbow issue and only made his return during the South Africa T20 League in January this year. He played for England after a gap of almost 24 months on a white-ball tour of South Africa and Bangladesh before the IPL.
