The fiery English fast bowler, Jofra Archer is hoping for “good wickets” in the upcoming four-match Test series against India which is scheduled to be commencing 0n February 5 in Chennai. He is well aware of the challenges ahead but is also confident of his team’s chances in the series. Archer has reckoned that the turning conditions will also be favoring the visitors as England also have quality spinners in their side.
Talking about the same during a chat with Daily Mail, Jofra Archer said, “I’ve played lots of Indian Premier League here but nothing in terms of first-class cricket, so the challenges of bowling with a red ball will become clearer. “In the IPL the batters have to come at you, whereas in Test cricket they can sit on you for a full session if they want and if the pitch is dead there is nothing you can do about it.”

He further added, “So let’s hope we get some good wickets with a little bit of pace for the bowlers. “Or even some turn, because if they spin, the matches will not be one-sided. We have good spinners in our squad and India won’t out-spin us.”
Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, and Rory Burns missed the recently-concluded Test series in Sri Lanka and they arrived in India before the rest of the England squad. Archer said that he was looking forward to the practice sessions with Stokes and Burns as they will be getting out of the quarantine earlier than the rest of the squad.
Explaining the same, Archer said, “I’ve been bowling a bit back home in the Caribbean during my break, but I have been itching to get out and practise since we arrived here in India last weekend. Myself, Ben Stokes, and Rory Burns will be out of quarantine first, ahead of the squad who have flown in from Sri Lanka.”

He further elaborated, “One of the things the first couple of training sessions involving us three should provide is an indication of what conditions will be like.”
