The fiery English fast bowler, Jofra Archer will not be able to feature in the national team before July, following surgery on his right elbow. It means that Archer will be missing the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand starting June 2, which was already confirmed, and the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka starting June 23.
Confirming the same on Wednesday, the England Cricket Board (ECB) informed that Archer had undergone surgery on Friday following the advice of a specialist, and said that he would now begin “an intensive rehabilitation period working with the ECB and Sussex medical teams”.

Jofra Archer was recovering well from his elbow injury, as he bowled brilliantly in his comeback game against Kent, taking 2-29 in 13 overs. But Sussex coach Ian Salisbury confirmed on Saturday evening that he would not bowl again in the four-day match.
Elaborating the same, Sussex skipper, Ben Brown said, “He’s a champion cricketer, so talented and so gifted, but at the moment he cannot do what he wants to do — he cannot do his skill. Jofra did the right thing playing in the second XI game the previous week and we all want him to be fully fit and firing for England and for the Ashes and things like that. He needed to play in this match to prove his fitness, but it just hasn’t worked out this week.”
