The fiery English pacer, Jofra Archer, who was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right elbow while during the earlier tour to South Africa in 2020, has been ruled out of the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Apart from that the pacer will also be missing the entire five-match Test series against Team India.
Jofra Archer was expected to make comeback in England cricket team during the 3rd Test against the Indian team, but now with the setback in recovery, it is most likely that he will have to go undergo an operation.
The recovery continues. 📈

After the injury, Jofra Archer just played one game in T20 Blast after which he was said to be missing the action for a month for regaining complete fitness. This comes as a major blow for England as well as the Rajasthan Royals team in IPL.

After a tentative recent return for Sussex, bowling nine overs in two white-ball games, Jofra Archer reported further discomfort, and after consulting with the specialist, the final news is quite unexpected for England.
As per the quotes in the Guardian, an England spokesperson said: “The England and Wales Cricket Board can confirm that England fast bowler Jofra Archer underwent further scans on his injured right elbow last week. The scans revealed that he has suffered a recurrence of a stress fracture. In response to these findings, he has been ruled out for the rest of the year and will miss the current Test series against India, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, and the Ashes series in Australia.”

He further added, “As part of his return-to-bowling program, he became aware of increasing discomfort in his elbow during matches for Sussex in the Vitality Blast and a 50-over friendly against Oxfordshire. The operation [was] not related to the stress fracture that sidelined the player previously. He will now spend time on an extended break from cricket before returning for a medical review in early autumn.”
Jofra Archer has played 13 Tests for England and he has scalped 42 wickets at an average of 31.04 with the help of three 5-wickets hauls. In England, his performance gets better as he has gathered 30 wickets in just 8 matches with an average of 26.86.
