Since its inception in 2022, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has garnered significant popularity in the Indian Premier League (IPL). A recent clip shared by Somjeet Singh, the captain of India’s wheelchair cricket team, shed light on the commendable efforts of the franchise to accommodate wheelchair users at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

Somjeet Singh highlighted how LSG has constructed separate elevated stands specifically designed for differently-abled individuals.  Moreover, he lauded the initiative of the franchise for offering complimentary tickets to wheelchair users, while regular attendees are required to pay nominal prices.

This inclusive approach garnered praise from Jonty Rhodes, the fielding coach of Lucknow Super Giants, who expressed his pride in the franchise’s commitment to making a positive impact beyond the cricket field.

“Was great to see you at the @LucknowIPL game last week @Somjeet_Singh07 and really proud that this franchise is trying to make a difference off the field too,” tweeted Jonty Rhodes.

On the cricketing front, Lucknow Super Giants have showcased promising performances in IPL 2024. With three games under their belt, the team has secured victories in two matches, suffering a lone defeat against the Rajasthan Royals in their season opener.

Their recent triumph over Royal Challengers Bengaluru propelled them to fourth place in the IPL 2024 standings, accruing four points from three matches.
