Lucknow Super Giants’ fielding coach and former South African cricket star Jonty Rhodes stirred up a social media storm recently, drawing attention after what seemed like a terse response to a fan’s request for a team jersey on X (formerly Twitter). The persistent fan had been actively engaging with Lucknow Super Giants’ posts for over ten days in hopes of securing a team jersey, prompting Rhodes to finally address the matter.
In his tweet, Jonty Rhodes expressed appreciation for the fan’s support but also suggested that he should find other pursuits. This reply from Rhodes prompted the fan to respond once more on the platform, clarifying his position. Rhodes then provided further clarification regarding his initial tweet.
Responding to the fan’s query about calling him jobless, Jonty Rhodes recounted his experience with survivors of acid attacks. He apologized if his words had caused offense, shedding light on the resilience of these survivors who face immense challenges in seeking justice.
