Yuzvendra Chahal was picked up by PBKS for ₹18 crore, while Buttler joined GT for ₹15.75 crore, setting the stage for an exciting on-field rivalry this season. In a video shared by Punjab Kings, Chahal brought back old memories with his trademark humour.

“Two years back, I smashed Jos Buttler – one over, 20 runs,” he joked. Buttler, known for his wit, was quick to respond, saying, “You can’t get the ball outside the 30-yard circle,” sparking laughter among fans.

Beyond the banter, Chahal also addressed the flood of ticket requests from friends and fans, politely clarifying that he wouldn’t be able to arrange passes this time. It’s a testament to his popularity, especially after becoming the IPL’s all-time leading wicket-taker with 221 wickets in 174 matches.

Chahal played a crucial role in PBKS’s impressive run last season, picking up 16 wickets in 14 games as the franchise finished runners-up. His experience will once again be key as Punjab aim to go one step further in IPL 2026.
