Rajasthan Royals (RR) registered a dominating win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) comfortably by seven wickets on Monday. Jos Buttler was the wrecker-in-chief for RR during the chase as he played an unbeaten knock of 70 to get the team over the line in a tricky run-chase of 126 runs. However, the England cricketer received a special gift from the CSK skipper MS Dhoni gifting him his jersey.

It’s a well-known fact that Jos Buttler is a huge admirer of MS Dhoni and he has said it multiple times in interviews. The latter’s finishing skills are on a downfall but his admirers have certainly taken over even as Buttler has often been seen helping England and the Royals win a lot of matches at the international stage and in the IPL respectively.

No wonder, RR’s match-winner was delighted after getting his hands on Dhoni’s jersey soon after the match. The official Twitter handle of the IPL posted the picture and the happiness on Jos Buttler’s face was visible.

Here’s the post:

After the high-octane matches in the weekend, CSK and RR were expected to play out yet another thriller with a lot at stake. But with MS Dhoni and his men not getting a chance to make a comeback in the game, the game completely became a one-sided affair as after opting to bat first, CSK literally had nothing to show on the board. Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja put on a 51-run stand but there was never a shot in anger to get a boundary.

The final kick never came in the innings, but they only managed to score 125 runs on the board. It was RR’s game to lose and Jos Buttler made sure they didn’t botch this chase up. He got an able ally in Steve Smith who at one stage was at 8 off 20 balls but strike-rate was never in question on the day thanks to the small chase. Buttler’s 70* ensured that RR got over the line easily despite the early hiccup which had reduced them to 28/3 at one stage.
